I was bullied in Junior Secondary School by someone I called friend. I had to put her first in everything I did, she took advantage of my really quiet and shy nature. It was an emotional torture.

One time she wanted to give her phone to me, she wasn’t looking so she dropped the phone on the floor and it broke. She was so angry and blamed it all on me, I couldn’t even stand up for myself. I was really scared.

The next day I didn’t want to go to school. I couldn’t explain to anyone that I was scared of my “friend”, So I dressed up and pretended to go to school, after I was sure every one else had left the house, I went back home.

This girl called my mum that evening saying I should bring money for the repairs to school the next day. (The nerve)

It got so bad my parents had to visit the school to make a complaint.

I eventually left the school, but all she did really affected my self esteem. I had zero confidence in myself. It took about two years after leaving that environment to regain my self confidence.

Thankfully now I’ve learnt to stand up for myself.

I do not think anyone can bully me ever again, I’m no longer that girl.
